Óbidos
Óbidos is one of the most beautiful and well-preserved villages in Portugal. Surrounded by 12th-century medieval walls, its cobblestone streets, whitewashed houses with blue and yellow trim, and the imposing castle transport you to another era.
Beyond its architectural beauty, Óbidos is known for its renowned cultural events: the Medieval Market (July), the International Chocolate Festival (March-April), FOLIO — International Literary Festival (October) and Christmas Village (December). It's also Portugal's first literary village, with several creative bookshops inside the walls.
